NDIS software for New South Wales providers
Running NDIS supports in New South Wales means national NDIS rules plus a layer of state arrangements: the NDIS Worker Check through Service NSW, restrictive practices authorised through the NSW RPA system, and NSW public holidays in every pay run.
What's different about running NDIS supports in New South Wales
Worker screening: Service NSW (NDIS Worker Check)
In NSW the NDIS Worker Screening Check is called the NDIS Worker Check. Workers start the application online with Service NSW and finish it at a Service NSW centre with their identity documents. The application is then assessed by the NSW screening agency.
The clearance is national and lasts five years. Registered providers must confirm it in the NDIS Worker Screening Database before a worker starts a risk-assessed role, and keep records of it.
NDIS Worker Check — Service NSWPricing: national limits, remote loadings
There are no state-specific NDIS prices. National price limits apply in metropolitan and regional areas (Modified Monash Model MM 1–5). Supports delivered in MM 6 (remote) or MM 7 (very remote) areas use the higher remote and very remote limits. Use where the support is delivered, not the participant's home address.
The 2026–27 pricing schedule's isolated towns list also reclassifies places in New South Wales: as remote — Balranald, Broken Hill, Hay, Ravenswood Warren. Look up an address's category in the Health Workforce Locator.

Work on a public holiday attracts SCHADS Award public holiday rates, and many NDIS supports have a public holiday price limit. Which days count depends on the holidays declared in New South Wales:
- Labour Day falls on the first Monday in October in NSW.
- Bank Holiday (first Monday in August) applies to banks and some financial institutions only — it is not a general public holiday for disability support workers.
Dates change each year — check the official list before you roster.
Restrictive practices authorisation
The NDIS Commission regulates behaviour support, but each state and territory decides how regulated restrictive practices are authorised. In NSW, regulated restrictive practices in an NDIS behaviour support plan are authorised by a Restrictive Practices Authorisation (RPA) panel convened by the provider, and recorded in the Department of Communities and Justice's online RPA system. Some practices need an independent specialist on the panel.
