Changes by support category

The schedule groups items into sections such as support worker levels, nursing and each therapy profession. The median change differs a lot between them, so check the section you deliver in rather than relying on a single headline figure.

New and renumbered items

31 service items have no 2025–26 limit under the same number. They include the Supported Independent Living items in registration group 0138 and some short term accommodation items. When an item number changes, update it in your service agreements and price lists as well as the price — a claim against the old number may be rejected.

The 335 claim-type items are also new item numbers. Cancellations, non-face-to-face work, provider travel, NDIA-requested reports and telehealth used to be claimed against the parent item; in 2026–27 they have their own numbers with a suffix. The NDIS price guide lists them with their parent items.

What this comparison can't show

  • Retired items. The data lists the 2026–27 items only. An item that existed in 2025–26 and was dropped doesn't appear, so check the 2025–26Pricing Arrangements for anything you still claim that isn't in this table.
  • Remote and very remote changes. Only the 2025–26 national (NSW) limit is kept with each item. The table can show 2026–27 remote and very remote limits but compares national with national.
  • Rule changes. A price can stay the same while the rules for claiming it change. Read the schedule and any NDIA guidance for the supports you deliver.

What to do about the changes

How to check NDIS price changes for your services
  1. 1
List the item numbers you claim
Pull the support item numbers from your service agreements or last few claims — this is the list to check.
  2. 2
    Search or filter the table
Search each item number, or filter by support category, to see the 2025–26 and 2026–27 limits side by side.
  3. 3
    Flag falls and renumbered items
Use the 'Went down' and 'New or renumbered' filters to find agreements that now quote a price above the limit or an item number that has changed.
  4. 4
    Check the region
Switch the region to remote or very remote if you deliver in MM 6–7 areas or isolated towns, and confirm the limit for where the support is delivered.
  5. 5
    Update agreements and claims
Agree new prices with participants where needed, update your price list and invoices, and claim at no more than the new limit for supports delivered from the effective date.

To see what a shift now costs at each time of day, use the NDIS shift cost estimator. To update agreements, the service agreement generator uses 2026–27 limits.

Questions

Frequently asked

Did NDIS prices go up in 2026–27?+

Mostly. Of the 246 service items that can be compared with 2025–26, 182 have a higher national limit, 17 have a lower one and 47 are unchanged. The median change is +3.6%.

How much did the standard self-care hourly rate change?+

Assistance With Self-Care Activities - Standard - Weekday Daytime (01_011_0107_1_1) moved from $70.23 to $73.58 an hour, national limit. Evening, night, weekend and public holiday items have their own limits — filter the table by the support name to see them.

When did the 2026–27 prices start?+

The NDIS pricing schedule 2026-27 took effect on 24 September 2026. Claims for supports delivered from that date use the new limits; supports delivered before it use the 2025–26 limits.

Why are the claim-type items all listed as new?+

The 335 items ending in _CA, _NF, _PT, _RR and _TH are new item numbers in 2026–27. Cancellations, non-face-to-face work, provider travel, reports and telehealth used to be claimed against the parent item, so there is no 2025–26 figure to compare them with.

Why do some items show as new or renumbered?+

They have no 2025–26 limit under the same item number. Some are genuinely new supports; others, such as the Supported Independent Living items in registration group 0138, replaced items that were claimed under a different number last year. Look up the old item in the 2025–26 Pricing Arrangements to compare.

Does this list show items that were removed?+

No. The 2026–27 schedule data lists the items that exist now, with their previous limit where the item number carried over. It doesn't hold the items that were dropped, so this tool can't list retired items. Check the 2025–26 Pricing Arrangements for any item you still claim.

Why compare national prices only?+

The previous-year figure kept with each item is the 2025–26 national (NSW) limit. Remote and very remote limits for 2025–26 aren't in the data, so the change columns always compare national with national. You can still switch the table to show the 2026–27 remote or very remote limit.

What happens to my service agreements when a price limit goes down?+

You can't claim more than the new limit for supports delivered from the effective date, even if the agreement names a higher price. Review agreements that quote an item whose limit fell and agree the new price with the participant.

Do I have to raise my prices when a limit goes up?+

No. A limit is a maximum. You can keep charging the price agreed in the service agreement; any increase should be agreed with the participant first.
