About Speech Pathology in the NDIS pricing schedule
Speech Pathology is a section of Appendix 4 – Therapy and Professional Supports in Part 2 of the NDIS pricing schedule 2026-27. Its items are funded from the Assistance with Daily Life (includes SIL) (01, Core), Finding and Keeping a Job (10, Capacity Building) and Improved Daily Living Skills (15, Capacity Building) support categoriesof a participant's plan.
Cancellations, non-face-to-face work, provider travel, NDIA-requested reports and telehealth have their own claim-type item numbers in 2026–27. Use those rather than the parent item when the support isn't a face-to-face service.

Claiming these items
- 1Identify the support and who delivers itDecide what the support is (for example self-care, community participation, therapy) and the worker level or profession delivering it, then find that section in the schedule.
- 2Pick the time band and intensityChoose the item for the day and time the support is delivered, and standard or high intensity. If one worker's support crosses two bands, the higher limit applies to the whole support.
- 3Use the claim-type item if it isn't direct serviceFor therapy and early childhood items, claim cancellations, non-face-to-face work, provider travel, NDIA-requested reports and telehealth against the matching suffixed item (_CA, _NF, _PT, _RR, _TH).
- 4Apply the locationCheck the Modified Monash Model category of where the support is delivered and the isolated towns list, then use the national, remote or very remote limit.
- 5Check the price against the service agreementClaim no more than the limit and no more than the price agreed in the participant's service agreement. Limits include GST.
- 6Claim in the right unitClaim in the item's unit of measure (hour, each, day, week or month). For group supports, divide the limit by the number of participants in the group.
